Luminato – War of 1812

Two hundred tents, each representative of a person living at the time.

I wasn’t quite sure what to expect when tempted with two hundred mini art exhibits laid out in mock soldiers’ tents in the middle of Fort York. The exhibit turned out to be quite magical as twilight approached and the lanterns inside each tent were lit. As I read through the list of persons represented I realized that one of them had been a relative. That discover made the experience of the exhibit quite personal and therefore more powerful.

The magic ended as the sun set and hordes of giant June bugs emerged from the wet grass and began to attack spectators.
